This is a 1940's pattern. The original pattern uses a 3 ply yarn but in this one I chose a lovely 8 ply pure wool. It did require a careful check of tension in order to get the correct size. The pattern on the body of the vest does skew the work on the bias. This is not a problem once sewn up and blocked sufficiently but when using this beautiful stitch this has to be taken into account.
